
Soyeon Park is a composer based in Graz, Austria. Her music is characterized by a strong sense of vitality, a refined yet playful and sometimes ironic approach to musical material, and a continuous process of self-exploration. With a deep curiosity for sound, she immerses herself in creating a unique artistic language that transcends genres. She studied composition at Ewha Womans University in South Korea (BA) before earning her master’s degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz under Clemens Gadenstätter. She further expanded her musical scope by studying jazz composition and arrangement with Ed Partyka at the same institution.
Park’s work is often evaluated for its ability to challenge musical conventions while maintaining a high level of technical mastery and expressiveness. Her compositions incorporate a keen observation of everyday life, often infused with subtle humor that adds unexpected layers of meaning to otherwise complex artistic contexts. Additionally, she frequently integrates acoustic and visual elements, including film techniques, as part of her compositional process.
